So Much More

In 2015, when Stephen Chachere last updated his personal site, he included only three galleries: The Concourse, New York, and Louisiana. It remains a question as to why. Did Stephen just run out of time? Or did he run out of both time and the will to look back at his work? I cannot answer the question, but I can try to show you that there was So Much More.

In 2014 and 2015 Stephen Chachere digitized a selection of his earlier photographs. Perhaps he intended to add some or all of these images to his site. To state the obvious: Stephen loved landscapes. Living in the Hudson Valley in New York afforded access to a rich variety of scenic wonder. Because these are the images that Stephen chose to digitize (as opposed to the images that I will choose to add), I group them together here. Please view by clicking on the formats below.

Soon after Stephen Chachere purchased his first digital camera, a Nikon D100 in 2001, he acquired a panoramic tripod head, stitcher software, and a love of the 180° and 360° image. Most of the images you see here are from 2003-2004, but Stephen continued to work with and print Panoramas until 2009.

When describing his work in digital media, Stephen Chachere once said, “I was an art person. I wasn’t a digital-coder person. I was more of a colors and lines and drawing person.” The work you see here attests to this description. Sometimes Stephen just wanted to capture the beautiful confluence of Colors and Lines. The images you see here are from 2014-2016.
